Annual Engagement Units Summit

Engaged Experiential Education:

To enhance student learning and support communities

 

What:          A summit for campus engagement* units and community partners

Place:          Carolina Club, George Watts Hill Alumni Center

Date:           Friday, Feb. 10, 2017

Time:          8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

 

Summit Goals:

Centers, institutes, schools, departments and student organizations are encouraged to send teams of up to three participants. Teams may represent overall units or specific efforts within a unit. Schools and other large units may send multiple teams. Each team is encouraged to include a community partner involved in their efforts.

The program will include:

There is no registration fee and lunch is provided. Because the agenda is dependent on the full participation of attendees, participants are expected to attend for the entire summit.

Registration deadline is Friday, Feb. 3, but because space is limited, those interested are strongly encouraged to respond earlier. For questions, contact the Carolina Center for Public Service at ccps@unc.edu or (919) 843-7568.

8:30 - 9 a.m.                  Registration and Poster Session (continental breakfast provided)

9 - 9:15 a.m.                  Welcome and Opening Remarks from Provost James W. Dean, Jr.

9:15 - 10:25 a.m.            Undergraduate Models of Engaged Experiential Education

10:25 - 10:45 a.m.          Break and Poster Session

10:45 - 11:55 a.m.          Graduate and Professional Models of Engaged Experiential Education

11:55 a.m. - 12:40 p.m.   Roundtable Discussions

12:45 - 2 pm                   Luncheon & Keynote Speaker: Tania Mitchell from University of Minnesota
