Join the Women's Center for an engaging afternoon at the theater! The pre-performance reception offers an opportunity to meet with some of the people involved in the production, and the post-performance discussion, led by a UNC faculty member, provides the opportunity to reflect on the play's message and staging.
The playwright, Bekah Brunstetter, hails from Winston-Salem and received her B.A. from UNC Chapel Hill. The titular cake represents the protagonist and baker’s dilemma: should she make a wedding cake for her dear but departed friend’s daughter? Or should she persist in a long-held but perhaps unexamined belief? For more about Brunstetter and the play, see here.
