The National Cancer Institute funded Geographical Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program (GMaP) Region 1-South, including North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, will host a 1-Day Symposium at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The Geographic Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program (GMaP), initiated in 2009, is a national program of regional, disparities-based hubs or networks for cancer health disparities research, diversity training, and community education/outreach. The goals of GMaP are to contribute to the science of cancer and cancer health disparities and advance the next generation of competitive, underrepresented cancer and cancer health disparities investigators.
This Symposium aims to allow researchers to exchange cancer health disparities research findings, network with other scholars, promote research collaborations, and learn about NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Program Funding.
