The Accounting Edge: Training for Future Business Professionals

Sponsored by RSM and Presented by Training the Street; put on by UNC Kenan-Flagler's Undergraduate Business Program, MAC Program, Accounting Club, Finance Society, and UBSA

Based on employer feedback in many different functions, students pusuing business-related careers (finance, consulting, accounting, and more) need a solid foundation in accounting principles and analysis of financial statements. The main goal of the workshop is to introduce students to financial concepts and accounting theory to help them to think like users of the financial statements. The lectures will be supported with current real world examples and exercises based on real public companies. The seminar content includes:
• Foundational three-statement relationships
• High-level ratio construction and interpretation
• Accrual accounting and economic measurement
• Fundamental cash flow understanding
• The importance of EBIT and EBITDA
• Navigating and reading financial statements

Lunch will be provided, and networking opportunities with RSM accounting professionals will round out a productive, interactive training experience.

Space is limited and Training the Street will be providing comprehensive materials for attendees, so sign up ASAP! Deadline to register is April 8th.
