This is the first in a series of Cebebrate Teaching events on Cultivating Inclusive Classrooms. This first session by Kelly Hogan, PhD, and Viji Sathy, PhD, is a presentation of their experiences teaching in interactive and inclusive classrooms.

Drs. Hogan (Biology) and Sathy (Psychology and Neuroscience) have both taught thousands of students in their years teaching at UNC. They specialize in inclusive teaching techniques in the large lecture class. They will provide scenarios that demonstrate reasons to reimagine course design and the techniques used in the classroom environment. They will demonstrate and discuss practical tips to create a more structured, inclusive class. Kelly and Viji will share data about how adding more structure to their course designs and classroom environments had positive learning outcomes for all, but especially for certain student groups.

This event is open to faculty, students and staff.

Come 10-15 minutes before the start time to grab a light lunch to take with you to the presentation.
