The NC DNA Day 5K is an annual run to support Science Outreach in North Carolina. Specifically, funds raised from this event will support North Carolina DNA Day – an annual event to inspire and educate the next generation of scientists, to support North Carolina science teachers, and to bridge the gap between North Carolina’s leading research enterprises and high school science classrooms.  Each year, NC DNA Day scientist “ambassadors” visit over 100 high schools statewide to share their passion for science and to present an interactive, hands-on lesson about genetics and biotechnology.

Registration

• Student Registration ($25): must show a valid student ID when picking up their packet.  High school students without student ID can also register for the discounted price. Discounted student rates are valid until May 15. Registration includes DNA Day 5K T-shirt.
• Non-Student Registration ($30): Discounted rate available through May 15. Registration includes DNA Day 5K T-shirt.
• Kids Fun Run ($5):  Registration includes DNA Day 5K T-shirt.
• In Person Registration ($35): available May 16th during packet pickup and on race day (May 17th) beginning at 7:00am
• Donation only:  If you’d like to make a direct contribution to support NC DNA Day, please send a check payable to UNC-Chapel Hill, c/o Sausyty Hermreck, Office of Biomedical Graduate Education, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 130 Mason Farm Rd CB#7108, 1105A Bioinformatics Bldg, Chapel Hill, NC 27599.  All proceeds go to support NC DNA Day and science outreach in North Carolina.  THANK YOU!

Packet pickup will be available on May 16th, 3pm-6pm at Fleet Feet Carrboro.  Packets will also be available on race morning at the race tent on UNC Chapel Hill campus starting at 7:30am.

Refunds and Transfer Policy:  All registration fees are non-refundable.  Event registrations are non-transferable between individuals, events, or years.
