The annual Biology Symposium is an event that brings the entire department together for a day of learning, sharing, and discussion. The Symposium features presentations from 2 faculty and 2 students, voted on by the department and equally representing both MCDB and EEOB. There will also be a poster session featuring the work of 3rd and 5th year students, including students from CEE (Ecology). In addition, this year we have student and faculty-hosted workshops that cover a wide variety of topics, from microscopy to bird calls. Lunch will be provided for those who have registered -- you will not be guaranteed a lunch unless you complete this registration.
Come mingle with colleagues and get an update on research happening within the department. The current schedule is as follows:
9:30 am - 10 am: Coffee (sponsored by GPSF)
10 am - 12 pm: Assorted workshops (30 minutes each)
12 pm - 1:30 pm: Lunch
1:30 pm - 2 pm: MCDB Student presentation (Chris Higgins)
2 pm - 2:30 pm: EEOB Faculty presentation (Christina Burch)
2:30 pm - 3:30 pm: Poster session and coffee break
3:30 pm - 4 pm: EEOB Student presentation (Courtney Cox)
4 pm - 4:30 pm: MCDB Faculty presentation (Vicki Bautch)
Please register for the workshops you would like to attend. NOTE: some workshops overlap! Please check the times to make sure you do not double book yourself.
