The Southern Oral History Program (SOHP) has collected and preserved voices of the South since the early 1970s. With an archive of 6,000 interviews available through Wilson Library's Southern Historical Collection, these oral histories capture poignant personal stories that bring history to life. A panel from the SOHP will discuss what oral history means, how to engage it in your own research, and the uplifts and challenges of applying it using examples of their previous and upcoming projects. This event is part of University Research Week.
