Thank-you for registering for the 7th Annual Solar Energy Research Center Conference on October 20-21, 2016. The theme of this year’s meeting will be “Energy Storage: Fundamental to Applied”. The one and a half day event will take place at the Carolina Club at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
NEW! Career Workshop:
This year we are excited to include a half-day career workshop on the afternoon of October 21st. We are delighted to offer this free with conference registration and strongly encourage our student and post-doctoral attendees to take advantage of this exciting opportunity.
For your convenience we have negotiated a group rate with the Courtyard Marriott. Be sure to take advantage of the reduced rate before it expires on October 3rd, 2016. Details can be found on the conference website www.serc.unc.edu
If you will be driving to the conference parking will be available at the Ram's Head Parking Deck adjacent to the Alumni Center. Parking is $14/day. Please register for parking here.

Graduate Student/Postdoc*: $75
All Undergraduate Students: $25
Faculty from a Primarily Undergraduate Institution**: $75
Graduate Student/Postdoc from a Primarily Undergraduate Institution**: $50
Registration fees are waived for members of the UNC EFRC and UNC's Chemistry, Physics, Applied Physical Sciences, and Environmental Science and Engineering Departments.
We want everyone who is interested to have an opportunity to engage and benefit from the conference. A limited number of financial hardship registrations are available. Please contact Dr. Ralph House directly for more information.
*After September 20th Regular Attendee and Graduate Student/Postdoc rates increase by $25.
**Note that we are following NSF’s definition of a PUI which is "accredited colleges and universities (including two-year community colleges) that award Associate's degrees, Bachelor's degrees, and/or Master's degrees in NSF-supported fields, but have awarded 20 or fewer Ph.D./D.Sci. degrees in all NSF-supported fields during the combined previous two academic years.”

This year we have extended the poster session to include a 1.5 hour session directly following lunch on Thursday followed by a 2 hour reception/poster session in the evening.
If you are supported by the UNC EFRC, you are expected to present a poster at the SERC meeting. Please use one of the EFRC PowerPoint poster templates (current 2016 versions) from the UNC EFRC SharePoint site.
Abstract submission closes on September 20th and you must submit your abstract with your registration.
