2021 UNC Eye Symposium | Physician Session

Course Description

The UNC Eye Symposium will provide the latest updates and insights in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders including anterior segment, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, oculoplastics, and pediatric ophthalmology.

 

Target Audience

This conference is designated for Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Ophthalmic Technicians and Photographers.

 

Accreditation

The School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill designates this live internet activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The event is also eligible for 6.5 Continuing Education Credits from the NC Board of Optometry. Doctors should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity

Receipt of all credit is contingent upon completion of an electronic evaluation within 14 days after completion of the course. 

 

Disclosures

This activity has been planned and implemented under the sole supervision of the Course Director, Donald Budenz, MD, MPH, in association with the UNC Office of Continuing Professional Development (UNC CPD).  Dr. Budenz receives consulting fees from Nicox and iView Therapeutics and, until April 2021, speaking fees from Carl Zeiss Meditec and New World Medical.

Dr. Friedland receives speaking fees from Bausch & Lomb and consulting fees from Inversa, and holds stock or stock options in Abbvie, Inversa, Palatin Technology, Panaceutics, Tauriga Science, Taysha Gene, and Turning Point Therapeutics.  Dr. Friedland held stock or stock options in GSK until January 2021.

Dr. Rapuano receives speaking fees from Bio-Tissue and consulting fees from Bio-Tissue and Celularity.

The other presenters, and CPD staff, have no relevant financial relationships with commercial interests as defined by the ACCME.

Registration and Fees

Physician Session fees are $199 for MDs, ODs, and PhDs. There is no fee for Residents or Fellows in training who are not seeking CME credit. Registrations will not be processed unless accompanied by full paymentWhen your registration is processed you will receive an electronic receipt and/or confirmation. Refund and Cancellation Policy

The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation or postponement, the UNC Department of Ophthalmology will fully refund registration fees but is not responsible for any related costs or expenses to participants, including cancellation fees assessed by hotels, airlines, rental car, or travel agencies.
