AN ACT OF TERROR

Based on a true story, AN ACT OF TERROR explores the ongoing oppression of the African American community at the hands of the criminal justice system. In the Jim Crow South, Virginia Christian, a 16-year-old African American maid, dreams of a better life for herself. Those dreams are shattered when she is attacked by her white employer setting off a series of tragic events that end in Virginia being tried for murder.

Note on this fall's editon of the Diaspor Festival of Black and Independent Film:

ALL screenings will occure online via a seecure streaming platform.
For each screening event, the film will be made available for viewing during a limited period of time as agreed upon with the film's proprietors.
The secure link will be de-activated once the viewing period has elapsed.
Pre-registration is required to receive both the streaming access information and ZOOM Meeting Invite for the post-screeming commentary/Q&A session with the filmmaker. The email will be send in due course as the screening event date draws closer.
