|The Ready Clinician's Ambulatory BP Training Course||Return to listing|
The 2nd annual Ready Clinician's Ambulatory BP Training Course will be held on September 11th, 2017 at the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas. CME credits offered - see www.abpmcourse.com for details.
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) is now the reference standard for assessing blood pressure and is recommended for confirming new diagnoses of hypertension. However, ABPM is still not widely available in many clinical practices, largely due to lack of clinician knowledge and familiarity with this valuable tool. To address this, Dr. Anthony Viera (UNC), Dr. Daichi Shimbo (CU), and Dr. Ray Townsend (UPenn) have created a one-day training course to provide primary care physicians with the knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to implement APBM in their practices. While this course is geared toward Internal or Family Medicine practitioners, all clinicians are welcome, including nurses, PAs, and researchers.
The value of ABPM depends on obtaining quality data and interpreting it correctly. Additionally, there is a lot of practical information one has to learn prior to implementing ABPM. Our ABPM course will ensure that clinicians have the opportunity to be appropriately equipped to provide this valuable service. Morning didactic sessions will be followed by a hands-on-segment in the afternoon. The aim of the course is to equip clinicians with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement ABPM in their practice. Attendees will also have the opportunity to interact with ABPM manufacturers. Course content will include:
