Are you curious about your business professor's research? Just what kind of research do faculty in the business school do? Join us if you're interested in research at Kenan-Flagler? Are you considering pursuing the honors thesis or seeking a research assistantship (RA) in business? Not sure what business research is or do you just want to learn more about the research process? Join us! This intro-to-academic business research session is for you.
A 4-person panel of faculty researchers, Ph.D. and undergraduate students will discuss: what motivated them to pursue research; the types of questions researchers investigate, the purpose and benefits of various kinds of research, including business, market and academic; the various methods for collecting and analyzing data; and how to conduct research responsibly. The session will also address opportunities and resources that exist at Kenan-Flagler and across campus for undergraduate researchers, including funding for summer research, research assistantships, how to find a research mentor, and how to build and maintain a productive mentor-mentee relationship.
Students interested in pursuing the honors thesis at Kenan-Flagler are strongly encouraged to attend.
Light refreshments will be provided.
