AOWS6: Revolution, Reaction, Reform: Industrialization Creates a Modern World

The purpose of this course is to link the concepts that revolution is a major change in society with both positive and negative results. Humans react to revolution in various ways, and then using their emotions demand reform to progress society forwards. The content focus is the late 19th and early 20th century Industrial Revolution and following Progressive Era. Each week students are asked to read the essays that correspond with each revolution and then use the lesson activities and documents to complete the assignment, which are completed by posting to the class discussion board. The culminating assignment is to create a lesson that is relevant to the individual student’s teaching assignment.
