AOWS1: Primary Sources in a Global Context: Opportunity and Enterprise in the Colonial Era

Globalization is not new. Europe began to expand into the Atlantic world in the 15th and 16th centuries. If students are to fully understand the country that would one day become the United States they must also understand the global influences that helped shape its history. In this course, students will look at globalization in the colonial era while focusing on using primary sources with students in the classroom. We will focus on teaching students how to "do history". Weekly assignments will build towards creating a primary source-based lesson plan to use in your classroom.

*Course start date subject to change pending minimum enrollment.

Please contact LEARN NC Executive Director, Andy Mink (mink@unc.edu) for special individual and/or school package pricing.
