Sarah Desmarais, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Applied Social and Community Psychology Program at NC State, is leading a two-day workshop on the use of the Short-Term Assessment of Risk and Treatability (START), a measure she co-authored. START is a structured professional judgment guide for the assessment and management of violence and related risks associated with behavioral health disorders. The intent of this workshop is to arm community mental health professionals with more effective assessment tools to reliably identify potential risks, and thoughtfully intervene to minimize risks as they help people recover safely in the community.

Priority to attendees who are NC ACT team clinicians and supervisors, CST clinicians and supervisors, and TCLI supervisors.  This training is sponsored by NC DHHS MH/DD/SAS. NBCC Credit (CEUs) provided.  And Advanced START training will be offered Summer, 2019 to those who attended one of the Introductory trainings.
