Please join us on Sunday, October 5, 2014 for a full-day Symposium entitled, “Complex Persistent Pain Conditions: Common and Unique Pathways of Vulnerability.” The event takes place the day before the start of the IASP 15th World Congress on Pain (October 6-11) and is co-sponsored by the Orofacial, Genetics, and Sex and Gender Special Interest Groups (SIGs).

Symposium registration offers many benefits: opportunity for networking and discussion throughout the day with speakers and attendees; continental breakfast, boxed lunch, and afternoon beverage service; access to presentation materials and resources; and early arrival and settling in prior to the start of the Congress.

** SEATING IS LIMITED TO 200 - REGISTER EARLY **

The Program
Featuring internationally recognized clinicians, psychophysiologists, geneticists, and epidemiologists who will present the “mosaic” of factors underlying complex persistent pain conditions (CPPCs), findings of overlap, and emerging methods to identify individuals at risk of developing one or more chronic pain conditions.

Moderated by Dr. William Maixner, Director of the Center for Pain Research and Innovation at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (USA), presentations will be around a unifying theme that “genetic and molecular mechanisms, coupled with environment exposures, contribute to complex signs and symptoms that define subpopulations within and between CPPCs.”
