AOWS9: A Global Narrative: Connecting AP United States and World History

(Advanced Placement focus)

This course is framed by the four AP historical thinking skills of creating historical arguments, chronological reasoning, comparison and contextualization, and historical interpretation. Students will explore three major topics, including the Colonial Period and Slave Trade, Westward Expansion, and Immigration by focusing on scholarly research, primary source analysis, regional comparisons, and digital histories. By the end of the course, students will have a better understanding of the connections between AP United States and World History. Students will also create their own thematic lesson plan utilizing connections between the two AP subjects and the historical thinking skills.

*Course start date subject to change pending minimum enrollment.
