Please join us for our inaugural Dean's Inclusive Excellence Lecture Series featuring Dr. Chandra Ford. Dr. Chandra Ford is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Fielding School of Public Health at the UCLA. Her areas of expertise are in the social determinants of HIV/AIDS disparities, the health of sexual minority populations and Public Health Critical Race Praxis/Critical Race Theory. Dr. Ford is a Kaiser Permanente Chris Burch Leadership Awardee, and a North Carolina Impact Awardee for research benefiting North Carolina residents. Dr. Ford is an author and editor of the important new book entitled Racism: Science and Tools for the Public Health Professional (APHA Press, 2019). She is a Gillings alumna, having earned her Ph.D. from our Department of Health Behavior. Refreshments will be served immediately following.
